The Transtech Millimeter Wave sensor (MWS) is a sensor operating in the millimeter wave range (approx. 76.5 GHz). Its purpose is to detect ground targets (aircrafts and vehicles) in airfields. An aggregate of MWSs synchronized in time, will form a distributed radar for airport ground targets. The MWS can be used as a stand-alone system in airports without Surface Movement Radar (SMR/ASDE) or as part of a comprehensive Intelligent Airport Solution: gap filler, coverage of blind spots, adding accuracy and back up for critical areas.
